Project Details

Byteball is a crypto blockchain which offers some distinct features to avoid many issues associated with other blockchains. Unlike a linear chain in Bitcoin, Byteball uses a DAG (directed acyclic graph). The main features include enhanced privacy, multiple asset classes, free distribution, conditional payments etc. Byteball bots is a great feature to do some work automatically. Translating this project to Chinese will help promoting it to Chinese users.

Contribution Specifications

Translation Overview

The whole project consists of 2,164 words. In this contribution, I have translated 688 words and make the Simplified Chinese translation to 100%.

Abbreviations e.g. ‘BB’ have been used in some source strings - it is easy to understand that ‘BB’ means Byteball in English. However, for Chinese users, they might be confused while seeing ‘BB’ in Chinese translation. Therefore, instead of using ‘BB’ as is, I use ‘Byteball’ in the translated texts. Another issue is to be consistent with previous translations, e.g. ‘World Community Grid’. A few versions can be found from various sources, e.g. wiki, search engine results, and previous translations, I have to choose the most appropriate one across the whole project. Thank you to the Chinese language manager for his suggestions.
